it is just the first semester…

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

it has been quite some times that i have not been to here and drop down some words… mainly because i am all tied up… I just involved in a car accident and that contributes more problems to my existing load of problems. That was rather long story… in short, I have to do all the running to claim the other guy’s insurance.

My mother in law just been through another operation and this time is about her intestine. There were two polyps and one had burst and could cause cancer and that was the reason she need to undergo such major operation at her old age. Anyhow, she seems to be recovering quite well in spite of some occasional fever and constipation.

Yen is still struggling with her thesis stage 2… it just seems like there is no end to this. Grace is doing quite well, but her hair still growing very slowly. We try to get her to attend some lesions… may be dancing, drawing, musical instruments etc… but at the moment we just could not spend the time and the other thing is those lessons cause money… :^)

UMNO’s true colors are showing

Monday, March 17th, 2008

UMNO Youth took to the street and protested against the new chief minister regarding the NEP issue at Komtar, Pulau Pinang last week. If I can recall it correctly, when the Hindraf people, Bersih people, Lawyer people and some other human rights people were not allowed to gather because the BN government said that “It was not our way of doing thing.”

The other thing is that the UMNO assemblyman called to BN federal government to scrap the planned mega project as the people have voted for a new state government and the state government has to do the projects themselves. If I can recall correctly, BN government always said that they are the government for all the people.

My hopes for a new chapter of Malaysia

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Before the election, I was really troubled by the fact Malaysian may actually refuse changes and refuse show their dissatisfactions through their votes because the racial and religious tension as told by the BN government. Two days has passed after the election and everything still going in a pretty normal way. So I guess I can officially call that as a threat from the BN government.

In fact, you do not need to have a sound political sense to know that the government issued that kind of warning only shows that all this while they have been doing nothing to improve the racial unity and religious freedom and causes all the tension. That gave us more reason not to vote them. If they have been putting in efforts over the last few decades through power sharing and so and so… whoever takes over the government, the people will still go on with their lives as nothing has happened.

Anyhow, I sure hope that the opposition will really appreciate this opportunity and produce good result in the next 5 years. At the same time, I also hope that BN government will reflex sincerely on what has gone wrong. And lastly the most important thing is the people have to wake up also to learn that for Malaysia to move forward, infrastructure development that has been the ace of BN government is not enough. We need a government that really promote the racial harmony and religious freedom at the same time fair and just.

There is still hope for Malaysia

Monday, March 10th, 2008

It was totally out of my expectation that 12th General Election of Malaysia turned out to be a show of citizen power and the maturity of Bangsa Malaysia. The outcome of the election couldn’t not be achieved if the dominant Malay didn’t cast their votes for the opposition. I am really glad that Malaysians finally come to their own stand and want justice to be served instead of having a government that is utterly corrupted and unfair.

Another achievement made was that Malaysians are not longer fell for the racial and religious threat use by the BN government to deter the citizens to vote for the opposition. If the BN government was fair and just, the racial and religious shouldn’t be any issue at all. Bravo! Malaysia, Bravo! Malaysian. Nonetheless, with hope comes the holes that yet to be covered.

experiment anyone?

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

I read from newspaper few days ago about our PM saying something like don’t let opposition do experiment with our future. Today, on The Sun I read that our DPM asked Kelantanese to give them a try and if they failed to deliver, then the people there can always elect a new government at the next election. So… why can’t we give the opposition a try in ruling Malaysia and if they are not doing well then only we reinstate the coalition in the next election?

RM150000 anyone?

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

There is another political advertisement saying that our CA friend have secured RM550 million for 450 new villages over the last 8 years. So, let’s practice some mathematics shall we. So… that will be about RM150 thousand per village per year. Now… do you know how much Datuk Z’s mansion costs?

Our friend talks about development which is actually can be done by anyone that is in power whether it is blue star or the red rocket. You may have a road without potholes but you cannot have a land to build your temple or church. You may have some money to renovate the SRJK in your village but your children will not be yours if your spouse converts to Islam. You may get a nice play ground near your house but you have to pay for your child education in IPTS. You may have a good lamp post outside you house but your child only enrolled by IPTA to study B.Sc instead of B.Eng.

So… if RM150 thousand per year is good enough for you, then I guess we can forget about our next generation.

another silent loud talker

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

Now I know that there are 133000 graduates of KTAR because of the some CA guys saying LOUDLY in the newspapers while they claim that they work quietly. The question is why they are so proud of the 133000 figure? Wouldn’t it be better if the advertisement sounds like this: 133000 graduated from IPTA?

political logics

Friday, February 29th, 2008

There are political advertisements all over local newspapers since a couple of days ago. I found it rather amusing as their main themes in the advertisement are “work silently” and “work quietly”. I found it is rather ironic that if they are working silently and quietly, what the hell they are advertising “LOUDLY” in local newspapers.

IC people ask what and when the other side plans to do as they only have plans. Then IC people say they have proven records and the other guys just have talks but at the beginning of the ad IC people ask us not to question what they have done. If IC guys really have proven records, why don’t they present it instead of looking down on the others for just having only talks?

I also really wonder what type of logic is that. Wouldn’t it be very natural that the other guys just have plans as they never been given the power to do anything thus without any records? So, what is it for the IC people to brag about? Lastly, they justified that ONLY IC BOLEH! Wah lau! That is really some logics that only valid in political terms.

MCA fights for what belong to Chinese from scratch

Friday, February 29th, 2008

The election is coming and that is the time of absolute hypocrisy. You get to see the so-called leaders come to the public and greet everyone with mandarin, tamil and some other dialects. Before this, they all fight to change the Bahasa Malaysia to Bahasa Melayu. Then comes all the advertisements on the media and until now, I only see the advertisement of coalition and opposition is no place to see. I guess that was the case and is going to be and will always be.

I saw one of the advertisements about the number of student sponsored by JPA to study overseas. It jumped from 100 non-bumi pre-2000 to 2300 as at now. And they said it is over 2000% increase. So, if you divide it by seven year, then it is only 330 students per year. How about the number of bumi student got sent overseas each year? Anyone can tell me? On top of that, those that put up the advertisement said that they fought for that figure… what did they mean by they fought for. It is what we non-bumi deserved to get. How about pre-2000? Why the figure was only 100? And the 100 is the summation of how may years?

One of the banner put up by MCA said that it is only feasible to fight for Chinese if they are in the coalition; it is no use to just making noise outside of the governing game. Well, if the Chinese community never made noise, I guess the figure will be always 100.

Isaac, I.saac or Is.aac ?

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

Isaac in Chinese bible was translated as 以撒 (Yi-Sa)I have been intrigued by this fact for quite a while as we planed to name our first child as Issac but was having problem in getting a Chinese counterpart, as Yisa is rather an odd name to have. Luckily our child was born as a girl or else I would be really in a dilemma in naming her.

I guess why would those translators put Isaac as Yisa and yet other names were closely matched the English version like Reuben as Liu-Bian, Levi as Li-Wei and so on. So, after some thoughts, I guess it has to do with the way those translators pronounce Isaac. It was probably pronounced as Is.aac instead of I.saac back then. That should explain why以撒Yi-Sa appeared instead of 艾萨克 Ai-Sa-Ke.

Anyway… Grace Low is always better sounded than Isaac Low !)
